MARK
PENSAVALLE
CO-EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Mark Pensavalle brings fifteen years of experience to his
vital position as Vice President of Production & Operations at Starlight Runner Entertainment, Inc. Financed by Arcturus
Capital in 2000, Starlight Runner develops new and established intellectual properties across several media platforms at the
same time.
Starlight Runner produces animation, packages books and
comics, and develops video games for clients such as Scholastic Books, Mattel Toys, Mainframe Entertainment, Marvel Comics,
Wizards of the Coast, and Acclaim Entertainment. The company is also actively developing new toy lines, as well as a slate
of original animated and live-action feature films and television programs with several production partners, including International
Film Resources, LLC.
Mr. Pensavalle designs and implements production strategies
for each of these endeavors, and he is currently developing Starlight Runner Books, an imprint of Active Media Publishing
that will publish new childrens books and genre fiction, which may in turn be developed for other media. Mr. Pensavalle will
then serve as Production Manager and Quality Assurance on the imprint.
Mr. Pensavalle played a key role in pitching and implementing
the production of Starlight Runners Hot Wheels World Race Highway 35 cross-media campaign for Mattel, Inc. To bring
these products to market in six months time, he supervised production of three property bibles, thirty-five comic books, a
special promotion for Target department stores, convention displays, and an animated teaser. Mr. Pensavalle simultaneously
supervised design work for a five-episode animated television series based on Starlight Runners Hot Wheels World Race
storyline for Mainframe Entertainment. Mattel has acknowledged this work as unprecedented in the toy industry.
Mr. Pensavalle runs Starlight Runners Rising Stars program,
which cultivates future talent in the art of filmmaking. He has served as producer or production manager on several short
films released by the company, including Red Light August (which has aired on PBS televisions Independent View), Tooth
Fairy (which formed the basis for the Revolution Films horror feature Darkness Falls), Headtrip (winner of several
film festival awards) and Red Wind (the basis for a martial arts feature film of the same name).
Mr. Pensavalle also coordinates Starlight Runners community
outreach efforts, including interaction with the City-As-School Executive Internship Program, and Starlight Runner CEO Jeff
Gomezs Never Surrender inspirational seminars.
A native New Yorker with a BA in Business Management from
Baruch College, CUNY, Mr. Pensavalle entered the book trade in 1987. He has since served as Production Manager for such major
publishers as HarperCollins, where he worked on such high-profile secret projects as Under Fire by Oliver North. Later
at Random House, he became renowned in the industry for taking Thomas Harriss Hannibal from manuscript to end-cap in
less than five weeks.
Mr. Pensavalle will
also be co-producing a slate of feature films in development at Starlight Runner in 2003. SCORE! will be his second feature
film.
