LARRY BABB
Principal
Producer / Director

Larry started his career in the motion picture industry while still in Dean College by working in the publicity departments of MGM, Columbia Pictures, and United Artists.  After college, he worked as a special features writer in New York for Dell's publications; Modern Screen, and Screen Stories Magazines.  During this time, he met and worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, with many of these acquaintances becoming lifelong friends.

After leaving Dell, he worked for two national advertising agencies specializing in network television programming.  During this period, he also independently produced two syndicated radio programs, "Better Than Broadway," and "Biographies In Sound."

In the 1970's, Larry began his career as an independent filmmaker.  In the ensuing years he has experienced virtually every aspect of the motion picture, television and video business.  He has been involved in financing, producing, directing, writing, promotion, publicity, marketing and distribution, both domestically and internationally.

Larry has been politically active and was at one time asked to formulate a campaign for Republican Congressional Committees in Washington, DC.  During this endeavor, he worked with many political individuals from both political parties, including President John F. Kennedy, Vice President Richard Nixon, Senators Barry Goldwater and George Murphy.

After Senator Murphy left the Senate, he and Mr. Babb formed a partnership under the banner of George Murphy Productions.  The partnership lasted for two years, until the former Senator became ill and had to retire.  During those two years, Mr. Murphy and Larry worked with many of Hollywood's greatest stars including Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, and Gene Kelly.

In the ensuring years, Larry produced many television and a feature motion pictures.  He also served as a video marketing consultant for some of the largest advertising agencies and corporations in the United States.  He co-authored the prototype for the first modern tax shelter for the entertainment industry; and he developed the plan for using investment bonds for motion pictures.

In 1976, Larry established Commonwealth of Massachusetts' first Film and Television Development Bureau.  At the request of the then Governor Dukakis, he served as its first Director.  Since its inception, the Bureau had been responsible for attracting to Massachusetts over $500 million in direct production revenue and untold additional millions in related revenues from other businesses.  Today, this state office is closed.

In 1980, Larry formed a partnership, Fiducial Resources International, with Marc G. Comjean, a partnership and friendship that continues to this day.  Under this partnership, Mr. Comjean served as Executive Producer and Financier on their projects.  Also during this period, he developed the financing plan and tax shelter for Lorimar to fund motion picture "prints and ads," rather than just productions.

Larry helped NFL football and film star, Jim Brown, launch his motion picture company "Ocean Productions," which produced budget films for minority audiences.

In early 1992, Larry, his sons Lee and Stuart, plus Marc Comjean began a quest to launch a worldwide drug education program aimed at children from nursery school through grammer school.

In 1999, while on business in Slovakia, Larry was asked by the national government to help establish the Film Bureau of the Slovak Republic, a project that is on going.

In 2000, Larry and Marc Comjean decided to once again produce motion pictures and are currently acquiring properties.  Plans call for the production of four to six features over the next few years.

An abbreviated list of Larry's  theatrical, television and video credits appear below.
