WILLIAM R. SLAUGHTER
For 32 years, Mr.
Slaughter has been a key executive and consultant in the entertainment industry. He
has worked in a senior level capacity for some of the most prominent independent motion picture distribution and production
companies in the world. Experiencing nearly every aspect of the business, he
has been responsible for acquisitions, sales, marketing, advertising campaigns, and the placement of film in the domestic
and international marketplace.
until 1999 he served as Executive Vice President of Entertainment in Motion, the largest independent distributor of entertainment
programming aimed at the ancillary markets. Mr. Slaughter represented many domestic
and international distribution and production companies. His clients included
Artisan Entertainment Beyond Films, Capella International, Capitol Films, Corolco Pictures, Miramax, New Line Cinema, Rank
Film Distributors, Ltd., Rysher Entertainment, Summit Entertainment and Trimark Entertainment.
Mr. Slaughter has recently purchased InflightDirect.com, which is currently releasing one movie a month to the world's
airline carriers and cruise ships.
He is also one of
the founding executives of R.S. Entertainment, providing consulting and distribution services to the independent film industry. Started in 1989, R.S. Entertainment has released over 100 theatrical titles representing
over three dozen clients. Some of the projects that R.S. has been involved with
in the past three years include the regional release of The Ride for World Wide Films, and the national release of One Tough
Cop for Stratosphere Releasing and Love Stinks for Independent Artists.
Mr. Slaughter recently worked with Cloud Ten Productions on the February 2001 release of Left Behind. Also during the first half of 2001, he has worked with Pioneer USA on the limited national release of AKIRA,
Trinity Broadcasting Network on the national release of Carman; The Champion, and again with World Wide Pictures on their
regional release of A Road To Redemption. In September 2001, Mr. Slaughter and R.S. Entertainment worked with Generation Entertainment
and the Trinity Broadcasting Network on the national release of Megiddo. This
is the follow-up to the highly successful The Omega Code and it opened on 350 screens.
Megiddo had the highest per screen average for the week of September 21-27, 2001.
Recent clients are Bandai Entertainment, Jenkins Entertainment, Lions Gate Films (in association with G8 Entertainment),
and the newly announce Iron Entertainment. Mr. Slaughter will be overseeing the
national release of Escaflowne for Bandai, Hometown Legend for Jenkins, Race To Space, (with James Woods) for Lions Gate,
and Shoot Or Be Shot (with William Shatner) for Iron. Other films include a regional release of Spooky House (with Ben
Kingsley) for Entertainment Highway and the limited release of Swimming (with Lauren Ambrose) and Southside, a new film from
